We have the great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 8th International Symposium on Resistance Arteries (8thISRA) which will be held from June 21 to 23, 2004 at the university of Angers, within the Loire valley, between Paris and Nantes, France. In addition to state-of-the-art lectures to be given by invited speakers on various topics of current interest, we will also hold workshops on organ-culture and reconstruction of resistance arteries, transgenic models of human pathologies, new developments in genetics, human resistance arteries and pathology. There will be debates on vascular biology of the endothelium and of the smooth muscle, ionic control of vascular tone, hypertension, diabetes, vascular remodeling, intercellular communication, reactive oxygen and inflammation. Travel grants are planned for those scientists who may be coming from developing countries and young investigators awards are planned.
